President Kenyatta euologise Wachira Mathenge,commissioner of police.

In his message of condolence to the household of Mr. Mathenge,the president described him as a hero who discharged his duties with integrety and professionalism.

He said that having worked closely with the deceased when he was part of the presidential escort unit,he knew him so well.

He continued to say that mathenge’s humility, hard work and dedication is worth emulating by other police officers with whom he worked.

The head of country added that it is due to the fact that Mr Mathenge was dedicated to his duties that he rose to the position of a commissioner.

At the time of his death, Mr. mathenge held the position of staffing officer chargend with the duty of overseeing  logistics at the national police service  Eastern regional office in Embu.

Mr. kenyatta prayed that God may comfort the family at this time of sorrow.

Other leaders who also mourned the deceased included the Deputy President William Ruto.

The Dp described him as a courageous character who was greatly commited  to his duties.

The cause of  the officer’s demise has  not been established yet.Earlier, he had  not complained of any illness.

According to a police report seen by Citizen television, it is suspected that the death of the commissioner of police might have been as a result of  heart attack.

Mr.wachira was pronounced dead upon arriving at outspan hospital in Nyeri.

Before then,he had collapsed at his home in Chaka.

Mr Wachira was to retire in the first of July this year but was on leave when he passed away.
