Summary:World Under-20 Championships New Dates finally Out

The Nairobi World Under-20 athletics Championships are are scheduled for August 17 to 22 year 2021.

This will be just one week after completion of Tokyo Olympics.

Initially the championships were to take place in July 7 to 12 this year but were postponed following the breakout of COVID-19.

In accordance with competition rules, athletes aged 16 to 19 on 31st December next year will be eligible to participate,a statement from World Athletics on Thursday indicated.

The 2020 World Under-20 chief executive officer Mike Rabar termed the announcement as good news saying that they will have to colour thoroughly prepare in order to make the event a success.

“We shall go back to the drawing board and make some adjustments to ensure that all is well,” said Rabar.

He said the two athletics Kenya is to bring in more athletes as the age bracket said we’ll buy some from participating.

Race walking team champions

These will now take place in April 23-24, 2022 in Minsk, Belarus.

There was also a slight change in  World Athletics Half Marathon Championships due for Yangzhou in 2022 ,moving back one week, from March 20, 2022, to March 27, 2022.

This year’s World Half Marathon Championships have been pushed from March to October 17 in Gdynia, Poland due to Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the World Athletics president Sebastian Coe ,Scheduling the world athletics championship has been made difficult owing to the inyerruptions by the corona virus outbreak.

World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships

March 20, 2022, to March 27, 2022.

World Half Marathon Championships

October 17 in Gdynia, Poland
